Introduction
I am a published writer and photographer
with experience in broadcasting looking for employment applying my diverse
abilities to new challenges. I started and operated my own small business.
I've taught children and adults. As a graduate of the Colorado College's
accelerated "block plan", I've proven myself a fast learner. I am willing
to accept a wide variety of challenges, and am able to give and take direction,
brainstorm, problem solve, plan, improvise and critique. I'm self taught
in many skills and appreciate opportunities to learn. I can work alone
or as a team player and I appreciate opportunities to share skills and
knowledge. I desire opportunity for growth and advancement.
Objective
To obtain employment in photography,
print and/or web graphics. I'm interested in design and production of images,
articles, and ads, and am open to other opportunities. I prefer a permanent
role with benefits and opportunity for growth and advancement.
Education
1982-86 The Colorado College, B.A., Studio
Art -Studied under master photographers while earning a B.A. in Studio
Art.
At C.C. I was a photo lab
monitor responsible for chemicals, equiment, etc. I modeled for Joanne
Verburg on a piece that was exhibited at the Guggenheim.
1979-81 Beaver Country Day School, Chestnut
Hill, Ma., Course in moviemaking, earned H.S. degree.
Experience

Roles: Founder/Proprietor/featured Artist/Webmaster
Planned, designed and created website.
Produced all backgrounds, tiles, and
image files from scratch.
Scanned, edited, formatted and posted
a Portfolio of photographs and articles.
Produced edited catalog style shots of
various internet auction items for sale.
Made graphical promotional cards, posters,
etc.
Created promotional website for "Sundae
Times" service.
Wrote "Photo Tips" section.
Created a Self Portrait section including
educational "Me&Mac" project documentation.
1999-97 West Virginia Family magazine
I was deeply involved in the startup
and development of this successful magazine. Roles included Editor's Assistant,
Photographer, Photojournalist, and Photo Editor.
Photographic
Conceived, plannned and scheduled photo
shoots.
Shot and hand processed film, scanned
prints and negs and edited images in Photoshop.
Submitted calibrated JPEGs ready for
four color press.
Computer
Responsible for all aspects of Macintosh
PC and peripherals used by Editor for assembling magazine.
Gained proficiency in Quark X-Press,
Photoshop, Networking apps, etc., as required.
Assisted Editor in most phases of prepress
production.
Created layout of articles, ads and other
items for publication.
1991 Taught hands-on photo basics
to children 11-14 years. Built camera obscura, and pinholes.
1992 Mansco Inc., a Boston construction
firm. 4X5 Shots for a promotional pamphlet.
As a lab assistant at the Colorado
College I was responsible for safety, equipment and chemicals. I built
an enlarger and plumbed my own darkroom.
